Spring can’t be far away—it’s time for that annual rite of spring, the Horse
Farms Open House. This year seventeen stables in twelve counties in
Pennsylvania and New Jersey will participate, entertaining thousands of
visitors with young foals, sample lessons, pony and hayrides, and
demonstrations of nearly everything equine.
Admission is free (though
there may be a charge to ride)—simply use the information in this issue to
select the farms that interest you. Directions follow each farm’s listing.
Travel to as many of the farms as you can fit into the weekend, at your own
pace and in your own vehicle. Watch for our green and white Horse Farms
Open House signs posted at crucial turns where local laws permit, but
consider tucking a map in the glove box before leaving home, just in case.
The barn doors are open from 10 am to 4 pm
