Spring Haven Show Stables, located at Flintrock Stables in Lititz, PA, caters to the serious hunter or jumper rider of all ability levels from age 5 and up.
Trainer/instructor Tasha Plunket has a master’s degree in instruction and education and taught 7th and 9th grade English in public schools for 10 years. That experience helps her provide clear, differentiated lessons to riders and horses of all ability levels. Half hour and one hour private lessons and one hour group lessons are offered on lesson horses or the student’s horse. Ship-ins are welcome.
Plunket is a USEF “r” hunter and hunt seat equitation judge. Obtaining the license requires evaluation by other judges, clinic attendance, letters of recommendation and approval by a national committee. “The knowledge and skills I have acquired through my training as a school teacher and a horse show judge set me apart from other riding instructors who may have no formal training at all,” Plunket said.
Plunket’s formal training has enabled her students to reach many goals. Plunket stated, “In the 3 short years that I have been a rider instructor, my students have reached numerous competitive goals and have qualified and received ribbons at Stirrup Cup Finals, Zone 2 Hunter Finals, and USHJA National Junior Hunter Finals. Beginner students have reached goals such as being end of the year CPJHSA walk-trot champion.”
In addition to teaching lessons, Plunket also rides and trains horses, helps clients to buy and sell horses, and judges horse shows.
Plunket runs her business out of Flintrock Stables which was built in 2003. The main barn has 28 rubber matted stalls with automatic waterers, and a 180’ x 80’ attached indoor arena with new, dust free footing. There are two climate controlled tack rooms, an observation lounge, conference room, and locker room with shower. A large 120’X240’ outdoor arena with jumps is adjacent to the barn.
