Pet Caregiving & Grief Support for Families

October 2017

Caring or an aging, chronic or terminally ill pet can be difficult.

Losing a beloved pet is heartbreaking.

Preparing for end-of-life with a pet or experiencing a loss is often filled with the pain of grief. In order to be present for those bearing this type of sorrow, Day By Day Pet Caregiver Support has a mission to provide compassionate support to pet caregivers through the grief that comes before, during, and after the loss of a beloved pet.

As a first of-its-kind 501c(3) non-profit organization, Day By Day specializes in direct to pet parent support for long-term caregiving, anticipatory grief, end-of-life decision making, and pet loss for all members of a pet’s family including children and other pets.

By providing an atmosphere of empathy, Day By Day’s team is focused on providing a safe, secure, non-judgmental environment for emotional support as well as educational tools to help pet parents become more informed caregivers and be able to cope with the grief that follows a loss. They offer a professional team approach as well as network to connect pet families with other walking a similar road of caregiving or loss.

Services provided at no cost through Day By Day include in-person monthly support circles (in PA, NJ, DE), a 24/7 telephone hotline, individual licensed counseling, weekly online support chats, email support, an internet Yahoo Group, and a comprehensive website offering a listing of local pet caregiving services and resources. Families are encouraged to utilize one or more services when and how they need support.

No pet family needs to walk the journey at end-of-life or through the loss of a beloved pet alone. To learn more about their services or seek immediate support, contact Kathryn Jennings, Founder/President at (484) 453-8210 or daybydaypetsupport@comcast.net or visit www.daybydaypetsupport.com.
