October 2017

Caring or an aging, chronic or terminally ill pet can be difficult.

Losing a beloved pet is heartbreaking.

Preparing for end-of-life with a pet or experiencing a loss is often filled with the pain of grief. In order to be present for those bearing this type of sorrow, Day By Day Pet Caregiver Support has a mission to provide compassionate support to pet caregivers through the grief that comes before, during, and after the loss of a beloved pet.

As a first of-its-kind 501c(3) non-profit organization, Day By Day specializes in direct to pet parent support for long-term caregiving, anticipatory grief, end-of-life decision making, and pet loss for all members of a petís family including children and other pets.

By providing an atmosphere of empathy, Day By Dayís team is focused on providing a safe, secure, non-judgmental environment for emotional support as well as educational tools to help pet parents become more informed caregivers and be able to cope with the grief that follows a loss. They offer a professional team approach as well as network to connect pet families with other walking a similar road of caregiving or loss.

Services provided at no cost through Day By Day include in-person monthly support circles (in PA, NJ, DE), a 24/7 telephone hotline, individual licensed counseling, weekly online support chats, email support, an internet Yahoo Group, and a comprehensive website offering a listing of local pet caregiving services and resources. Families are encouraged to utilize one or more services when and how they need support.
