Recycled Rubber Encourages Happy Hooves for the Training Season

April 2017

Need to refresh or improve your footing for the training season to come? Mahantango Horse Turf is the premier arena cover for equestrian comfort. Generated from a specialized process for uniform size and fiber content, horse turf allows for excellent moisture retention while providing good drainage. This translates into reduced maintenance, reduced dust, greater cushion, and an overall more attractive look.

Founded by M. Roger & Leona Hess, Mahantango Enterprises remains a family owned and operated business which takes great pride in offering the highest quality rubber at an economical price. Mahantango has been in the rubber business for over 25 years, and they strive to keep their customers happy through their products and services. Remember, no hoof means no horse—if the horse is continuously pounding away on hard ground, there are sure to be problems.

Using state-of-the-art computerized production equipment, Mahantango produces a unique rubber granule made completely from scrap tires. The steel belting from the tires is not a problem as Mahantango’s advanced facility utilizes the most cutting-edge magnetic separation equipment that will remove most of the metal. This progressive equipment makes a truly unique product. In this way, Mahantango recycles approximately two and a half million tires each year. They are capable of handling any size order, large or small, and ship within a 200-mile radius with their own trucks. In addition, Mahantango will ship anywhere using other carriers and customers can pick up their own footing as well.
