Jerre Frankhouser Clinic Slated for Stony Run Fields on May 6

April 2017

Triangle Therapeutic Riding (with lead instructor Laura Rutledge) trains children and adults with a variety of disabilities including learning disabilities, anxiety issues and high functioning autism, and transition them to a mainstream competitive program. Triangle TR operates out of Stony Run Fields in Reinholds, northern Lancaster County, PA.

Stony Run Fields offers full care boarding, lessons and training; clients compete in local and rated shows. The farm is home to the Penn State Berks Campus ISHA Equestrian Team, and the Region 2 IEA (Interscholastic Equestrian Association) for area middle and high school students. Trainers Becky Weik and Larissa Ott coach both teams. This year the IEA Team was Region 2 Champion and one of the team’s horses was named “Best Regional Horse of the Day for Region 2 Finals”.

In 2016, Becky Weik placed 14th out of 70 entries in the Hunter division of the Retired Racehorse Project in Lexington KY with her horse Fly High. Becky and Larissa are both approved trainers for the New Start Retired Racehorse Program, an affiliate of Penn National Race Track.

Both Becky Weik and Larissa Ott have their Professional USEF Status, and Certifications for coaching, training and instructing riders of all abilities. Becky is also USHJA Certified, a nationally recognized certification. All three instructors have previously trained with and continue to train weekly with Jerre Frankhouser to further develop their skills and techniques. Frankhouser teaches at Stony Run Fields each Wednesday morning.

The farm will host a jumping clinic, What Judges Are Looking For on the Flat and Over Fences, with Jerre Frankhouser, on May 6. Small groups from cross rails to 3’6” will be placed at riders’ requests.

Stony Run Fields and Triangle TR are currently accepting new students. To register for the clinic or for more information visit StonyRunFields.com and TriangleTR.org.
