Shane Ledyard Helps Clients Win AND Find Greater Meaning

January 2016

Shane Ledyard is a USEF ‘r’ judge and USHJA Certified Trainer who operates Ledyard Horse Training, Judging, Riding Instruction & Clinics in Sellersville, PA.

Shane Ledyard’s horsemanship transcends a classic, traditional feel while preparing horses and riders for the modern show world. He is a young horse specialist and is known for his ‘What the Judge Really Looks For’ clinics that prepare riders for all levels of riding including local, USEF, IHSA and IEA competitions.

Ledyard is on a mission. “I want people to know where their real value is, and it’s not solely in their horses and their show ring performance. Make no mistake; I will prepare you to be a competitive and safe rider who is capable of winning. However, the way I see it there is just so much more to the horses and riding. I firmly believe we have to look for the greater meaning of what we are doing or the horses will just end up being another empty materialistic pursuit with no intrinsic value. I know there is a greater purpose behind our sport. I incorporate that notion into my everyday horsemanship.”

Ledyard uses his clinics as a platform to encourage riders and to give them confidence in and out of the show ring. He helps them overcome show fears while teaching them his proven system that gives them an edge when they compete.

Horse training is at the heart of Ledyard’s horsemanship. He has started multiple young hunters and jumpers that have gone on to successful careers. He also knows how to get the best out of a proven athlete, consistently helping regular and clinic clients make their way to local, regional and national finals.
