Harvest View Stables Focuses on the Fun Stuff

April 2016

“We do the fun stuff!” is not an empty slogan at Harvest View Stables, located in Manheim, just north of Lancaster County, PA. Harvest View hosts fun events at the barn for students of all levels, and travels regularly to numerous off-site competitions.

This summer, join Harvest View for Riding Academy! Knowledgeable horse people understand that skillful riding is just one aspect of a well-rounded equestrian. During Riding Academy, students will not just ride, but also learn how to apply wraps and boots, use proper grooming techniques, apply first aid practices, learn when to call the vet, and so much more. Dates include June 23-24, July 11-15, July 25-29, August 8-12, and August 22-24.

Harvest View welcomes riders of any level who are interested in improving their horsemanship skills in a safe, friendly atmosphere. Riding academy sessions are offered over the summer and during school breaks. English lessons are offered daily with a focus on eventing. A jump field allows riders to hone their skills outside the arena while remaining in a confined space. An indoor arena enables lessons to continue year round.

In addition to skilled, experienced instructors, Harvest View offers regular clinics with upper level event riders such as Melissa Hunsberger, Missy Ransehousen and dressage instructor, Kristin Severson.

Harvest View also offers boarding in an 18-stall barn with an attached indoor arena. Stalls are 12'x12' or larger with rubber mats, heated buckets and Dutch doors to the outside. The barn has two hot and cold wash stalls and a heated tack room with restroom. Horses enjoy plenty of turnout in spacious pastures with horse-safe fencing. Beautiful trails provide ample opportunity for riding through the countryside.
