PENNSYLVANIA EQUESTRIAN
PJG Stable’s Favorite Tale
was honored as the top thor-
oughbred in Pennsylvania for
2014 at a banquet held April 1 at
Parx. The three year-old gelded
son of Tale of the Cat capped
off a magnificent season with a
resounding win September 20th
in the track’s top sprint race for
3 year olds, the G3 Gallant Bob
Stakes. Owned and bred by Paul
Conaway, Favorite Tale started
his racing career in January 2014
and quickly established himself
as a top sprinter, winning his first
three starts including a 14 length
win in his first open allowance
race. In addition to his Gallant
Bob win, he also captured the
$100,000 Gold Fever Stakes at
Belmont Park, making him a
multiple stakes winner in his first
season of racing.
Other highlights from the
evening included jockey Frankie
Pennington winning the second
riding title of his career. Trainer
Ramon Preciado won his first
training title, racking up an im-
pressive 118 wins and a win per-
centage of better than 30%. Jock-
ey Jose Delgadillo won the award
as top apprentice jockey, leading a
tremendous group of young riders
now competing at Parx. Handsup
Moneydown, owned by the track’s
top trainer, was honored as the
winningest horse on the grounds,
having won an astounding 11
times locally in 2014.

is hosting a two day Jim Wofford gymnastic clinic this spring at
the beautiful and historic
USET Headquarters
.
Jim
has many accolades: 3 time Olympian, world renowned event trainer and clinician, author,
color commentator for many national and international broadcasts, and a host of other honors and
awards, including the Jimmie Williams Trophy for Lifetime Achievement, the sports highest honor.
If you event or are a hunter/jumper/equitation rider, gymnastics will sharpen you and your horse’s
jumping skills. The clinic will have three sections, each being based on jump height (2’6”, 3’, 3’6”
and over) and rider/horse ability level. The cost of the two day clinic is $430. The auditing fee is
($20/day). There will also be a Q&A lecture session in the morning before the sections begin.
Jim will also b donating half of his clinic f e to help support the United States Equestrian Team.
