Phillip Dutton, West Grove,
PA and Boyd Martin, Cochran-
ville, PA will make up half of the
US Eventing Team competing at
the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Dutton will compete Fernhill
Cubalawn, a 2003 Holstein-
er gelding owned by Caroline
Moran, Simon Roosevelt, and
Thomas Tierney. Martin will
compete Blackfoot Mystery,
a 2004 Thoroughbred gelding
owned by the Blackfoot Mystery
Syndicate, LLC.
The USEF also named direct
reserve horses, who would be
automatic replacements for any
horse that could not compete.
Dutton’s direct reserve horses are
the HND Group's Mighty Nice,
a 2004 Irish Sport Horse geld-
ing, and Ann Jones and Thomas
Dutton, Martin Named
to 2016 Olympic Team
Tierney's Fernhill Fugitive, a
2005 Irish Sport Horse gelding.
Martin’s direct reserve horse
is Gloria Callen's Welcome Shad-
ow, a 2005 Thoroughbred cross
mare.
The team will also include
Lauren Kieffer (Middleburg,
Va.) and Team Rebecca, LLC's
Veronica, and Clark Montgomery
(Tetbury, England) and Holly
and William Becker, Kathryn
Kraft, and Jessica Montgomery's
Loughan Glen, a 2003 Irish Sport
Horse gelding. Maya Black,
Clinton, WA, will be the traveling
reserve.
Eventing competition at the
Olympic Games will take place
August 5-9, 2016, at the Deodoro
Olympic Equestrian Center in
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
